A bed of rocks in various colors, river-rounded

Really honored to have my story, “Displacement,” in the latest issue of Stonecoast Review, focused on the theme of Power.

Available here:

When I submitted the story, the form asked for me to pitch why I thought this story worked with the theme.

Here’s what I wrote:

This story explores how sometimes the only power children have in a family is against each other, how that balance of power tips when one of the children has more physical and gender-related power over the others, and how the rage of the beaten down can take on surprising and inexplicable forms.

It’s an origin story. I won’t spoil it by saying what originates therein.
